Alberta is a dedicated wife and mother of three children, whose ages range from 16 to 25 years old. From a young age, Alberta had a deep interest in becoming a psychotherapist, driven by her passion for understanding the human mind and helping others. However, her early career took a different path.

Instead of immediately pursuing psychology, Alberta earned her Juris Doctorate degree. She practiced as an attorney for several years, gaining valuable experience and skills. Despite her success in the legal field, Alberta's true calling in psychology remained strong.

Alberta has a special interest in psychoanalytic studies. In addition to holding. Juris Doctorate and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from SMU, Alberta has completed training in Adult Psychoanalysis (non-clinical track) at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston, Texas.

Alberta’s education was further enriched by studying under Dr. Felicia Powell Williams, a psychoanalyst and President of the Board of Directors at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies.

Alberta is under the supervision of Dr. Felicia Williams-Powell.

Alberta continues to work as a therapist at The Journey School, two days a week. Alberta specializes in working with students and families who experience social-emotional challenges.

Alberta is also the co-founder of the non-profit, Food As Medicine Awareness with her daughter. Food As Medicine Awareness was inspired by seeking alternative treatments for her daughter’s autoimmune diagnosis.
