Challah Baking with Feeding the Lonestar

Today I was lucky enough to join friends and bake challah, for newly postpartum mamas, with Feeding the Lonestar.

There is something so special and grounding about gathering with community and preparing food for others. Today we made bread and said blessings for each recipient and I was reminded of how special it is to be able to join other women in giving back to my community.

Feeding the Lonestar is a local nonprofit kitchen that unites volunteers to prepare meals for the food insecure in Houston and surrounding areas. Feeding the Lonestar goes beyond meal preparation. If you or someone you know is in need of a nutritious meal, please reach out to them here. Feeding the Lonestar is always looking for more volunteers! If you are looking to donate your time, sponsor and event or gather with your friends for a good cause, head to https://www.ftlonestar.org to learn about how you can get involved.
